Real-Time Dust Monitoring Deployed on Major Infrastructure Project

Our air quality team has deployed a network of construction dust monitors on a major infrastructure project in the Midlands, providing continuous PM10 and PM2.5 measurement with real-time SMS and email alerts.

Construction dust monitoring is increasingly required as a planning condition for major developments, particularly where sensitive receptors (residential properties, schools, hospitals) are located nearby. The monitoring demonstrates compliance with the IAQM guidance on construction dust assessment and provides evidence for planning condition discharge.

Our monitoring deployment includes: - Turnkey Osiris real-time particulate monitors at 4 boundary positions - Automatic trigger level alerts sent to site managers within 60 seconds of exceedance - Integrated weather station for wind speed, direction and rainfall correlation - Weekly compliance reports with trend analysis and wind rose plots - Monthly summary reports for local authority submission

The system enables the contractor to implement dust management plan interventions immediately when trigger levels are approached, preventing complaints and enforcement action. Data is accessible 24/7 via a secure online portal.

For projects requiring construction dust monitoring as a planning condition, we offer equipment-only hire, full managed monitoring services, or a hybrid approach. Get a construction dust monitoring quote →
